Mural at Blidworth Oaks Primary School
I have just completed  painting several outdoor murals at Blidworth oaks Primary School. Each mural will represent a different area of Blidworth Village and will be painted/inspired by the style of a famous artists.

Leonardo Da Vinci representing the "Pit Wheels"
Cezanne representing "The Well"
Renoir representing "The School"
Turner representing "The Ponds"
Van Gogh representing "The Church"

Each class in the school has been named after a famous artist. The children will learn about their artist and then attend an innovation workshop where they will be given the opportunity practice their artists style of painting and contribute their ideas into the mural.

A further two murals will be painted. One will represent the sign of Blidworth that can be seen upon entering the village, the other mural will be a collection of children's paintings chosen from the innovation workshop and will be reproduced by the children themselves.

This mural was painted at the HYDROTHERAPY CENTRE in Hucknall Nottingham http://www.canine-hydrotherapy.co.uk/Links.php

They have a great new physio area that will allow the dogs to exercise on a canine running machine, as well as swimming in the pool.

LEAP - Lincolnshire Employment Accommodation Project.

this was a community project that I got involved with.  Working closley with  6 young adults we designed a mosaic which was constructed and then laid in the garden of the new LEAP building.

We also painted a wall mural in the new common room.

The projects took just under a week, every one was so enthusiastic even tho we had to brave to wonderful British summer rain to get the mosaic laid in time for the new build open day. Well done everyone!

WREN HALL - Dementia Home Wall Murals

http://www.wrenhall.com/

I have recently had the pleasure of painting some murals at a local nursing home
" Wren Hall" which cares for patients with varying degrees of dementia.  Each area or corridor of the nursing home has a different theme.

Wren Hall - The Sports Shop

come to the sport shop and find something to play for the afternoon.  This corridor is also decorated with a variety of diffrent sports equipment.

Wren Hall - The Florist

Wren Hall - The transport corridor mural

WREN HALL - Kitchen corridor mural

This corridor has been painted with a kitchen theme in mind.  yumm yumm lovely cupcakes almost good enough to eat.

Lots of kitchen utensils were also placed along the opposite wall of the corridor to make it more tactile and stimulating for the residence.

WREN HALL - Sky celling mural

This is painted in the conservatory area of the nursing home which has views of the garden.

I painted the celling with a sky scene a few months ago.

I have added a tree up one wall which has a variety of fairies flying around or perching in the branches.

The residence have now added their picture to the tree.

This area is for the residence in the last stage of dementia.

WREN HALL - The Barber Shop

This mural was painted outside the hairdressing room of the nursing home. A real barber’s pole was added, which could that light up and rotated. Wooden Pelmets were painted and added to the mural to make them stand out.

These murals were designed by myself but I had some help from my artist friends Julia Morley and Sarah Gamble to get them painted in time for the homes opening day.
